Simon Coulson 3-Day Diploma in Internet Marketing Course – My Honest Review
When I first started exploring internet marketing, I had very little experience in the industry, like many beginners, I was eager to learn but lacked proper guidance and structure. Over time, I spent money on various online courses, tools, and platforms, some were useful, while others did not provide the value I expected. Along the way, I made many mistakes, but those experiences also taught me important lessons about digital marketing and online business.
While researching internet marketing training courses, I came across Simon Coulson, a well-known internet entrepreneur recognised for building successful online businesses. His 3-Day Diploma in Internet Marketing course was presented as an opportunity to learn directly from someone with real-world experience in digital marketing, affiliate marketing, and online business growth. I decided to enrol in the course because I wanted to improve my skills, gain practical knowledge, and better understand how internet marketing works.
Interestingly, I attended the course twice, first in 2015 and then again in 2018. Both experiences impacted me differently and played a role in my journey into digital marketing and website development.
My First Experience Attending the Course
When I attended the course in 2015, I was still very new to internet marketing, website design, affiliate marketing, and online business, most of my knowledge at the time came from random online research and trial and error. The course gave me a clearer understanding of how digital marketing strategies work together and helped build my confidence.
The training covered a wide range of topics including affiliate marketing, search engine optimisation (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, WordPress website creation, landing pages, Google Ads, and passive income strategies. Returning to the Course in 2018
By the time I attended the course again in 2018, I already had more experience in digital marketing and running online projects. However, because digital marketing changes constantly, I wanted to refresh my knowledge and strengthen areas where I still needed improvement.
The second time around, I approached the course with a completely different mindset, since I already understood some of the concepts, I found it easier to absorb the information and apply it more effectively to real business situations. I focused more on improving my understanding of SEO, affiliate marketing, email marketing, social media marketing, lead generation, and website strategy.
One area I particularly enjoyed was the WordPress training, since I already had some knowledge of WordPress before attending, I found this section easier to follow and extremely useful. It reinforced what I already knew while introducing additional tips and techniques that helped improve my website-building skills.
My Overall Experience
The course was well organised and structured in a way that was easy to follow, especially for people who prefer classroom-style learning. After completing the course, I felt more confident in my abilities and decided to start my own business, which led to the creation of LB Internet Consultancy (Now rebranded to SK Design Media). The materials provided included workbooks, templates, resources, and practical examples that could later be used for revision and implementation.
One of the things I appreciated most was the networking opportunity, I met many people from different backgrounds who were either starting their online journey or trying to grow existing businesses. Speaking with like-minded individuals, sharing experiences, and learning from others added extra value to the training.
The trainers themselves were generally good presenters and knowledgeable in their specialist areas, however, I personally felt the course moved very quickly at times, especially for complete beginners. Because there is such a large amount of information covered in only three days, it can become overwhelming for someone with no prior understanding of digital marketing concepts.
Challenges I Faced During the Training
Although the course itself was useful, attending it was personally challenging for me, the venue was located near Heathrow while I lived in Hackney, East London. Due to financial constraints, I could not afford to stay in the hotel or rent nearby accommodation, so I travelled back and forth each day. This meant waking up around 5 AM every morning, travelling for almost three hours using buses and trains, attending the full-day sessions, and then returning home close to midnight before repeating the process again the next day.
By the second and third day, the exhaustion became difficult physically and mentally. I struggled with tiredness during parts of the sessions, but I remained determined to complete the course and absorb as much information as possible.
Finances were another challenge, the food and facilities around the hotel were expensive, so instead of buying meals there, I often brought my own food from home to reduce costs. While this was not ideal, it helped me continue attending the training without placing additional financial pressure on myself.
What I Liked About the Course
One of the biggest strengths of the course was that it provided a structured introduction to internet marketing, for beginners who feel overwhelmed by the amount of information available online, having everything organised into one training programme can be very helpful.
I also appreciated the practical approach used throughout the course, many of the examples were based on real-world situations rather than just theory. The sessions encouraged people to think about applying the knowledge to actual business ideas and online projects.
The networking opportunities were another positive aspect, meeting people who were on similar journeys created a motivating environment and helped make the experience feel less isolating.
Things to Consider Before Attending
Although I found value in the course, there are also a few things people should be aware of before attending, one of the main issues is information overload. The amount of content covered within three days is extremely large, and for someone completely new to digital marketing, it can feel overwhelming and difficult to process everything properly.
Another thing to be aware of is the upselling during the event, additional coaching programmes, mentorship packages, and premium products are promoted throughout the training. Some of these programmes can be expensive, especially for beginners or those already dealing with financial limitations.
I also believe it is important for people to understand that attending a course alone will not automatically create success or generate income immediately. The course can provide knowledge and direction, but actual success depends on consistent learning, practical implementation, discipline, and personal circumstances.
While the training introduces affiliate marketing and online business opportunities, these methods do not work the same way for everyone. Some people may progress quickly, while others may need more time, practice, and experimentation before seeing results.
Speakers and Trainers
Most of the trainers on the course were confident presenters and clearly experienced in their specialist areas, they delivered the sessions professionally and shared practical insights based on real-world digital marketing experience. If you already had some understanding of digital marketing concepts, the pace of the training was manageable and easier to follow.
However, for complete beginners, the course could feel quite fast-paced at times, one of the biggest challenges was the amount of information covered within just three days. Topics such as SEO, affiliate marketing, social media marketing, email marketing, and online business strategies were packed into a short period, which could easily become overwhelming for someone with no previous knowledge of the industry.
Because of this, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering the course should do some basic research beforehand. Having at least a general understanding of areas like WordPress, SEO, affiliate marketing, and social media marketing will make it much easier to absorb the information and follow the sessions more confidently.
Overall, the training provided valuable information and useful insights into digital marketing. However, I believe people with some foundational knowledge will benefit the most from the course, as the learning experience becomes easier to follow and apply in practical situations.

However, I would strongly recommend doing some research beforehand and learning some basic digital marketing terminology before attending, as the pace can feel fast for complete beginners.
Looking back, while I now focus more on self-learning, practical experience, and applying skills in real-world projects, I still appreciate the knowledge, motivation, and direction the course gave me during an important stage of my journey.
